Parents and schools need to work together for the betterment of the students. Parents play an important role in providing support and building the confidence of their children. Parents should check some of the
tips or
activities they can use to develop their children’s confidence and improve their school experience.
This year, we have students in all buildings with life threatening allergies to all nuts and associated products (peanuts, peanut oil, etc).
At both school buildings, we are asking all parents to refrain from sending any products containing nuts to school.
At Bayside Public School, we do our best to create safe environments for all students. If the students have contact with any of these products prior to coming to school, we are asking them to wash their hands carefully to avoid cross-contamination on playground equipment, door handles, computer keyboards etc.
In a classroom setting, cross contamination is the greatest risk for this type of allergy. Cross contamination is when a few crumbs from one child's snack are dropped and picked up by an allergic child, or a trace of the product is left on materials or equipment used by the allergic child. A small amount can kill.
We appreciate and thank you for your support in helping us create an environment that is safe for all our students by ensuring that your child brings only nut free foods in his or her lunch.
