Administration of Medication
Board policy requires that all school offices have signed consent from a physician prior to the administration of any prescribed medication at school. If it is necessary for your child to receive medication during the school day, please obtain this consent from our office. Whenever possible, short term medication such as antibiotics, should be administered at home. Students who use inhalers may keep them with them at all times. When there is a request for a student to self administer medications such as inhalers, a doctor’s order form is not required. The student keeps the medication on their person and the student will self-administer the medication and does not require any staff assistance. All other prescription and non-prescription medications, such as Tylenol should be kept in the office for administration. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call our office.
